Wave Model Applications
Usage of the Met Office global and regional wave model configurations include:
Forecasting
- Forecaster supported regional, vessel route and site specific descriptions of sea-state
- Supply of 2D wave spectra for vessel motion algorithms (e.g. in support of heavy lift)
- Offshore boundary conditions for coastal wave and impacts forecasts
Archive Services
- Long-term model archives in support of design analyses (e.g. extremes), operability analyses (e.g. threshold based downtime) and legal claims
- Forecast archives available for case testing
