Spectral wave forecast
This page shows a spectral wave forecast for a small number of near-coast sites. The colour of the contours relates to the spectral energy density. Wind speed and direction are shown by the wind barb. The black line denotes the approximate threshold of the 'wind sea' capture area: energy bins behind this line (i.e. at higher frequencies) are deemed to be receiving energy from the wind (i.e. is considered wind sea). All other energy is considered to be swell.
The images are updated at 10.00AM each morning.
