For those who play in, live by, or work on our oceans, decisions will be influenced by weather and the state of the sea.
NCOF provides operational forecasting and scientific advisory services motivated by the benefits of improving our ability to make decisions in the ocean environment, be they economic, environmental or based upon safety of life.
NCOF institutions offer a range of Products and Services for the benefit of

These capabilities range from established operational forecasts of metocean parameters and consultancy, to research and development led demonstrations that can be provided under collaborative arrangements.
NCOF is also involved in Copernicus (formerly know as GMES - Global Monitoring for Environment and Security). Some NCOF products (NWS analyses/forecasts and OSTIA) are available through the Copernicus Marine Service (click on logo). The MyOcean2 project's main objective is the delivery and operation of a rigorous, robust and sustainable Ocean Monitoring and Forecasting Service for all marine applications related to maritime safety, marine resources, marine and coastal environment and climate, seasonal and weather forecasting.
