Demonstrators
Welcome to the NCOF demonstrators section.
We like to feel that this will become one of the most exciting areas of the NCOF website, and hope that you will also enjoy visiting these pages and come back regularly to see what new demos have been posted..
The demonstrations presented are a mixture of products undergoing market testing, cutting edge research seeking a real-world application, or just plain interesting and novel ways of visualizing ocean processes.
A number of demonstrations of NCOF products are also available on sites run by ESSC, PML, POL, NOCS and the Met Office. To view these, please follow the links from the Partner Demos page.
We aim to regularly update the demonstrations in these pages. Current live demonstrations are:
Many of the NCOF products from the Met Office operational ocean models and analysis systems, including latest analyses, an archive of previous analyses, and five day forecasts, can now be visualised through our visualisation system.
Spectral wave forecast, showing which frequencies and directions contain wave energy, for four locations around the UK and Ireland coast.
Ecosystem Health in the North Sea, a web portal produced for the European Framework 6 project ECOOP, aiming to provide information relevant to the management of ecosystem health in the North West European shelf seas.
The North Sea Fisheries Assessment web portal provides physical oceanographic information, mainly from the Met Office Medium Resolution Continental Shelf (MRCS) model, that is intended to be relevant to fisheries managers and assessors.
Environmental Indicators - produced for the BOSS4GMES European research project to demonstrate a concise summary of four physical oceanographic parameters useful in environmental monitoring.
